Fault Finding Turns Into Gratitude
“One should not find fault with others or correct them unnecessarily.”
Bhagavad Gita 16.1-3, Purport
This week in Sunday Serve the host presented each of us with a challenge. We were asked to make an effort to refrain from fault finding while doing service and instead asked to practice finding goodness in others. While we all practice this to some extent throughout our daily lives, the practice of being together in a group and thinking about ways to be grateful for others, proved to be a powerful exercise.
At the end of our service we reflected on our experiences and shared ways we were grateful for someone that we met or spoke with. Interesting and unique stories were told and much joy and laughter shared. There are many things to be grateful for every Sunday and endless stories to tell about the ways we come together to serve. These become inspiring reminders to turn away from fault finding and choose to express gratitude instead.
